Charles Edward Erdman is what my mama named me but most people call me Charlie.

I started my journey with grand ambitions of inventing warp speed at six years old, fueled by encouraging words from my parents to dream big. Since then, I’ve pivoted, explored, and slowly uncovered what matters most to me as a designer: creating meaningful, human-centered work with curiosity and care.

Lately — for fun (the best part about design) — I’ve been turning custom wedding gifts into small-batch products over at Charlieee.com. Before that, I was the Co-Founder and Lead Industrial Designer at Aion Prosthetics, where we took a faster-to-market approach to developing body-powered prosthetic devices. I also led design at Morph, a Chicago-based studio blending fashion design and engineering.

From 2022 through 2025, I’ve been based in the Midwest, working with medical hardware startups and building custom furniture. I’m always looking to connect, collaborate, or just chat about good design.

I have been fortunate to have work published on a national and international platforms. Including INDUSTART, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Vogue Greece,The cut, ELLE, Highsnobiety and Harper Bazaar. I have been hosted by Core77, Red Dot, C-IDEA, and A' Design.
